Otters Blog – 9.2.18

This week we have shown all of our Tree for Good Learning qualities in planning our text map for our writing today.  We were collaborative in coming up with ideas to describe a rainforest scene as a class, Then we were resourceful in using those ideas in writing our own phrases and short descriptive sentences. We were very creative in our ideas and curious in finding out about different rainforest animals and plants.  We then had to edit our own work making us reflective and resilient.

In science we were again curious as we tested different materials to see if they were waterproof or not.  We poured water on to them, using pipettes.   We discovered that tin foil is waterproof and that our socks are not!

We have been doing maths quizzes this week which have been rather hard work, and we have been very resilient, so we are ready for our half term holidays.  We have also been practising our times tables.

In PE we have again been creative learning our Penguin Dance with Mrs Ash, using our own ideas.  On Tuesday we did some Internet Safety work, as it is Internet Safety week.  We looked at the story Chicken Clicking and had lots of discussion about how we stay safe when using the internet.  We are sure that all of us have come home and discussed internet safety at home.
